Although I could never find it on their website, I think that JL Audio makes a set-up that's a "drop-in" replacement for the C-5 speakers. I was browsing through a JL catalog at a local stereo shop early last year when I saw it, but because I didn't own a Corvette at the time, I didn't get all of the details.
IIRC, it was a woofer, tweter and crossover set-up.
Black 98,
Check the Bose speaker emblem. My 98 Black C-5 coupe had a loose bose badge and it sounded like a blown speaker. I looped black sowing thread
around it and a little super glue, good as new.

I blew out the woofer in the driver's door..... you CANNOT buy the individual speaker as a spare part, Chevy wants you
to buy the whole setup, almost $400 worth of door guts.
I scoured junkyards, and audio-install shops for an old Bose speaker, no good.
Finally bought a 3" Bose woofer out of the Mid-America catalog...$29 bucks...... it ain't great, but it's better than nothing. :( :(
