Can anyone tell me for sure if i'm getting a 1255 code and no com if the ebcm is the problem I have cleaned the ground contacts and my pump functions ok...I dont want to spend the monet to find out the module is not the problem thanks
Check all of the fuses in both compartments, then clear the code. Note that the EBTCM and its attached BPMV, power up during cold startup. You might want to re-seat the EBTCM's main connector as well and/or check out its contacts for cleanliness.
I will check the fuses but 1 thing I forgot was that it would come and go and reset itself then one day it just stopped, how can you check the ebcm by itself is there someone out there in the Vette world that can check it?
its a PITA to get in and out
my car is a 99 so abfixer is a no go and in fact any other person saying they can fix it from what i can see is just resoldering all the connections without any results...I'm going to try that before I put it back in...from what I can see from other pic's they all have some sort of stain on the board so I don't know if that is an issue?
I've not had mine apart out of my '99 other than pulling it off so I could get to the BPMV. In my case, the BPMV motor needed to be exercised manually with electrical. Without having seen the internals of the EBTCM myself, usually if there's a stain of some sort on a circuit card/board, there's either too much solder flux that was used during the assembly or something overheated and burned things. Personally, I would be checking components with a DVM and replace anything I could that needed it. Relays, if you can't get a new relay that would work, then clean up the contacts of the existing relay. Any integrated circuits in there that could be bad, you're probably out of luck but with C-5's being parted out more these days, contact someone about getting a used one.
Has anyone got the PCB out of the EBCM to see whats under it and to get to the solder points on the back side, someone on here was going to but never heard back...i'm going to resolder the plug connectors that I can get to but I would like to get at all of them
