Default fuel system issue

Did some reading on the forum before I posted this but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Here is the situation with my 2002. The gas gauge reads just over 1/4 tank but when I try to refill tank it will not take any gas. I tried multiple pumps to eliminate a gas pump issue.

Jeff.

There was a "piping issue" on some C5s, believe there was a problem with the gas tank fill tubing.

You can temporary solve by placing gas nozzle upside down when filling, but be careful, this makes the automatic gas fume sensor inoperative, so it will overflow if you don't manually stop it.

I am assuming that your don't have a full tank and your gas gauge (actually gas tank sender) is not malfunctioning.

The more I read the more it is looking like the "transfer" tube that transfer's gas to the p/s tank during refill is clogged or kinked.

If I'm not mistaking, the fuel level sending unit is in the p/s tank. If so then it would make sense that the gauge is reading 1/4 and the d/s is full.
I also noticed the guage will creep up a tad after car has ben running a while. probably because the pump is in the d/s tank and is supplying the engine and the p/s tank.

I will tare into monday and see what I find...
