Default McLeod clutch problem...

Installed an RST twin disk and flywheel with Tick MC 2000 miles ago.

The car shuddered when starting out in first gear from dead stop day after installation with no improvement 2000 miles later; burning clutch smell heavy at first and not so much now.

Is this normal...........a clutch material problem.....or installation problem ?

I am having the clutch removed to try to determine the cause of this shudder and have it fixed.

The shop seems to think they will not find anything unusual. They don't think McLeod will honor replacing a material defect problem. They think the break-in may have been improper ( by me ). Basically, they think upon re-installation, I will have the same problem i.e. car shudder when starting from dead stop in first gear.

It is kind of a difficult situation, as I paid to have a new clutch installed and expect it to work properly......they probably installed the clutch by the book with no screw ups......the clutch/flywheel and associated parts were probably good. Yet.....my friggin' car shudders in first and I don't want it to shudder. Who is responsible here ?

Anybody have any experience with this McLeod clutch or thoughts on this subject.

You said the car shuttered from day one, which means it should have done it on the drive home from the shop that did the install. Did you bring it to their attention immediately? i.e. same or next day after install?
