I have a 2000 FRC. I installed JO Shocks and sway bars with stock Z06 springs a month ago and have done one Autocross and one track day. I recently started getting a fairly loud clunk in the front when going over harsh bumps. Is this common with the stiffer springs, shocks and sways or is there something most likely wrong? Could I have a bad shock? How could I tell? I cannot get it to make the same noise in the garage. I can't give it enough shock. I check bolts etc and could not find anything loose. I also check the ball joints and the tire does not have play in the horizontal or vertical plane. Any suggestions?
I thought about the sway bars. How do you know if the swaybar links are set correctly? You can rotate the bar to put the end of the bar in different positions. I put it where I think it needs to go and it does not appear to be binding. I tighten all bolts to the recommend torque settings. I will go back and check the tightening on all the bolts. There was not visual indication of something loose.
I checked the battery. I think the sound is coming from the front lower. I will continue to work on it. Thanks for all the good ideas. On the sway bar the bar rotates so depending on how long you make the the adjustable link is where the sway bar sits and at what angle.
