Weird lighting issues
I went for a drive the other day and it was starting to get dark so I turned on my lights... the headlights came up but I had no interior or parking lights... checked fuse #6 in the fuse box on the passenger floorboard which was blown and replaced it... now I have interior lights and front parking lights but still no taillights or license plate lights and sometimes my headlights won't come up or go down but they always turn on... when I hit the blinkers the interior lights flash with the blinkers and my brake lights light up and stay on... reverse lights are good... basically its all fudged up and out of nowhere... the car is always garaged and doesn't get driven very often... I checked the grounds behind the headlights on the frame rail and they are clean as a whistle... I thought the headlight switch might be the culprit and took that apart to tighten the contacts but that didn't help... could it still be the headlight switch even though I still have interior lights and no taillights?... my other thought is the hazard switch or possibly another fuse or relay?... just looking for some more input before I have to dish out some money... thanks in advance!... car is an 02 z06 and I have led switchbacks in the front turn signals and halo modded led taillights and hyperflash harness all from jwm if that makes a difference
I'm not sure what to suggest with the modded lighting that you have. Normally I would say that your headlamp switch has a problem. Bending contacts tighter will not fix a bad or dirty contact.

hopefully none of the lighting mods has anything to do with it... everything has worked perfectly for months and just decided to take a crap out of nowhere... I've searched around the boards and it seems the headlight switch is usually the problem when the interior and parking lights go out but its weird in my case because the interior lights and front parking lights are working after I replaced the #6 fuse but I still have no rear parking lights or tag lights

ok i messed with it some more today and there is a tcs code c1295 for an open in the brake lamp circuit but only when the park/headlights are turned on... if i leave the lights off the code can be cleared and does not come back on... when the brake pedal is depressed the high mount brake light works but the rest of the brake lights do not... headlights, drl's, and interior lights work... no rear parking lights, brake lights (except the high mount), or tag lights... when i turn on the left blinker it blinks normal in the front and on the dash... when i turn on the right blinker the light stays on the dash but you can hear the relay clicking, front turn signal works but is dimmer than normal... now in the rear, no matter which blinker is on it's the same way, both left halos are lit up with no brake lights, high mount brake light illuminated, both passenger brake lights illuminated but no halos... i did notice that on the passenger side there is a brake light with 3-4 leds not lighting up... any ideas??... i'm thinking the led tails might be the problem, i've contacted jw to see if he has any advice
