I just changed my pads at 90K miles and was surprised at how different the wear pattern was between right and left. The indicator had started to squeel so I knew it was time but I let it go for too many miles and wore into the metal. Here is a picture of the left front pads.
You can (or can't see) the groves on the inside pad as they are worn away.
Here is the right side.
Still some pad left here. I also replaced the rear pads but they were not even half worn. I guess the left side has a little more mass to deaccelerate with a 190 pound driver
