Are the C5 shifter ***** screwed or pin? Are they interchangable with C6?
the oem c5 **** is screwed and pinned.
remove the shift pattern tab with a flathead and then you will see what is called a demon key, that has to be pulled straight up (good luck) and then the **** just screws off.
the c6 **** bolts on through the side and wont work with a C5 shifter handle. you can get a modified c6 **** on ebay though that will screw on.

I also have a C6 slant shifter I thought on using on my C5,but it's not threaded. It's smooth and has a slot where the shifter would go.If I wanted to use this shifter on the C5 which **** would fit. I was told the 2008 and newer C6 are different from the early model. I think my C6 shifter is the earlier model design.
all c6 ***** should work on all c6 shifters. One with a MGW shifter can change the upper portion of the shifter to accommodate C5 (screw on) or C6 (slip on) *****.
I have a C6 shifter as well, but been told there are two different type of *****, 2005 - 2007 and 2008 - 2011. Do you know what the differences are?
There is no difference in the way the **** connects to the shifter for any year C6. The difference in the shifters for the different years of C6's are in the base not the ****.
You can buy a C6 **** threaded to fit a C5 shifter online. Search.
