Default Cluth Replacement - which to use?

Hydraulics about to be replaced....have some choices to make.

Also - opinions on the DRM Slave modification versus Cartek's welcome...

I'm anxious to see results on the SPEC clutch..I've heard mixed reviews..Some folks have complained of excess fludder when releasing the clutch in first gear..Others have said that they are either on or off, no gradual release .
I ordered a SPEC STAGE III Carbon with an aluminum Flywheel.. My car is scheduled for an install next week..But i may have a change of heart based on the feedback we get here.

I would go with a ZO6 clutch since GM designed it to withstand 405 HP! :yesnod:

I think thats rated @ 405 HP at the flywheel , i'm pushing 500 HP at the crank.. I'd like to use the Z06 clutch..I'm sure that it would be the smoothest of them all..But can it handle the additional torque ?? Especially since i am considering an ATI blower in the future .

I have the carbon stage 3, there are three things i dont like about it, nothing major though.

1.sometimes it chatters in 1st
2.you cant really slip it, its either on or off (Im used to it now)
3.after hard shift it gets mushy pedal only for a short time ( some have attributed this to the slave restrictor;however, when i had the A/O dual friction
it did not do this

the good is that it grabs real well, even on the juice.

I Don't here much about them, but I have a Centerforce clutch and flywheel that perform great on my Coupe.

It all depends on what you want to do with your car. Do you have any plan on doing heads&cam? How about nawessssssss? Do you drive very agressively? Do you go to the track often?

If you answer yes to any of the question above, I would strongly recommend a Cartek. Otherwise the 2002 Z06 clutch should do it. :D
