WENT FOR A INSPECTION STICKER TODAY AND HAD TO CHECK BACK-UP LIGHTS.PUT CAR IN REVERSE.LIGHTS CAME ON FOR A SECOND AND THEN WENT OUT.HAD THE BULBS AND WIREING CHECKED.FOUND THAT I DON!T HAVE ANY POWER GOING TO THE BACK-UP UNIT.IS THERE A BACK-UP SWITCH ON THE TNANS(MN6)2000 VERT.(3700MI)ANY INPUT WOULD HELP.
Check your owners manual, and find out where the fuse is located.Check the fuse.I think that would be a starting point. After that if the fuse is in tact, check the connections to see if the connections are tight.Did your lights work pror to the inspection? When and uf the fuse did blow, there is a possibilty the bulbs blew. Not much chance both would blow, but that is a possibilty.I hope this helps.I have found out when working with electrical problems, start at the source and work backwards. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
Assuming your back up lights flash when you remotely lock/unlock it, then:
This is a common problem on MN6's - there is a switch, I think on the tranny that I had to have replaced on my 99. The tech knew it was a 6 speed as soon as he saw the no back up lights comment. The part no. for my 99 is 14069600 with a description of SWITCH 2.698 - should be a warranty item for you :D

Re: BACK-UP LIGHTS (blevey)
Yup, same here. When the back-up lights flash when arming/disarming the alarm it obviously tells you the bulbs are good. I had to have the back-up switch replaced on mine as well. Ever since: O.K. :D
