My 2003 HUD Display hasn't worked since I purchased the car about 2 months ago. I've found a used unit that I've purchased (with warranty!), so I'm going to attempt to install it in the near future. I have all the info from a previous post as to how to disassemble the dash, etc, so I think I'll be good - BUT - the unit was removed from the other vehicle by cutting the wiring harness. I'll have to splice my old harness to the new unit - does anyone see any problems with that? Any suggestions and comments on this project before I get started will be deeply appreciated.

Reason: no picture
You sure it's not working-a common problem is the projector mounts break and then you can't see the image (even though it's working). Do an Advanced Search on Broken HUD.
Pretty sure Doug. Either way I need to get to it. The guys I bought the used one from have given me a 60 day return policy, so I'll be able to scope it out and decide which one works best. Thanks
The hardest part was the passenger side of the dash getting it disconnected from the glove box. The rest was easy. You do need to remove the center console and I removed the knee bolster(driver's) to get the surround off. Best important thing I remember is to be sure to tie strings to the light and sun sensors on top of the dash as you'll need to support those to get them back in. If you drop them, then you are having to pull it off to fish them out.
Thanks again D - good info. I'll post how I made out when I'm done. By the way - can anyone tell me how to get pictures in my post? Haven't mastered that one yet!

Put your pics on a site like photobucket then link to them.
I installed a HUD in a 1999 non-car about 2 years ago. Took 2-3 hours, take your time, zip tie and tape all loose wires cables ect. So, you don't have any rattles down the road. You can do it! Very easy project.

It's very simple. I follow the direction on this forum and it went as smooth as butter.
