I had a problem with my car last week, the heater control light were staying on. The inside of the car got wet and some of the guys that helped me said the bcm might be wet. I didn't remove the bcm and dry it and the light worked normally again. I also put a heater in the car to dry it out. Everything was fine. Windows worked at this time.
I went on a trip to Florida for a few days, left the car in the garage. I disconnected the battery in case the light decided to come back on,so it wouldn't kill the battery.
Well I pulled the car out of the garage to wash it and went to roll up the windows and nothing happened. I ran the codes and got LDCM no comm. and RDCM no comm. All other codes that came up were history. PCM and the BCM had no codes.
Could this be related to the battery being disconnected. It was not connected for about 4 days.
SHORT ANSWER: Open BOTH doors. Grab the rubber accordion tube/s and feel the TWO wiring harnesses inside each tube. Pinch the wiring harnesses between your fingers and SHAKE THE HELL OUT OF THEM!
Then,, CLEAR all your DTCs and see if any DTCs come back and see if the issues are resolved... If they are,,,,,,,,,, I will provide you the permanent fix!
No I didn't. After they started to work I left it alone. What happens if I disconnect looking for water and when I put it back together I bend a pin or create some sort of damage. I know you have to be careful but things can happen. Thats why I didn't remove the BCM to take it apart and dry it. I don't think GM had that in mind.

If you bent pins you will have problems. However the plugs are indexed and bending pins is very difficult to do. You have to put a lot of effort in order to bend pins. If it had water it could turn into corrosion, you may have no other issues now,but then again the next time it give you issues is when the pins corrode off or hte panel grounds out and then you'll have a very large repair bill. It's very simple to open it and check. GM didn't plan on the consumer to open it,but then they didn't plan on it getting wet.Did it actually get wet? Good Luck!

Opening up the BCM was recommended to the OP in the thread below. Obviously, he ignored the advice. So whatever residue is leftover from the water in the BCM, will eventually render it unrepairable. You can lead a horse to water, but you can make them drink.

I asked you in your last thread if you opened up your BCM to make sure there wasn't moisture present and you said that you did. In your OP in this thread you say you didn't...

Which was it?
I didn't say if I opened it or I left it alone. All I said was the BCM wasn't wet when I looked at it and then I said I put a small heater in the car to dry it out. I am sorry if I work 12 hour days and don't have the time when I get home to jump in and work on a car.

No need to apologize; it's your car. But, like you were told in your other thread, if your BCM is wet time is money...
I don't know why people come on here and waste others times. They ask a question and when the respond is other than, don't worry about it it will fix itself, they get their panties all up in a knot. Instead of wasting time, just take it to the dealership and have them fix it for you.
They will not open it and dry it. They will just replace it for you. Makes them way more money.
Then the mechanic doing the work, takes the old one home, opens it up,dries it and sales it on Ebay.
