Coupler noise?
I have an intermittent popping noise that I cannot identify. I thought it was binding sway bar bushings but I've lubed, Tefloned and adjusted them and the popping remains.
Could this be noise from failing torque tube couplers?
My 99 has about 66k miles with a 415HP LS1 that I bought with about 60k miles. I don't know if it was abused by the previous owner or not. The rest of the car seems well cared for.
Your thoughts appreciated.

Where is it coming from? Any codes?

The poppng noise is sometimes fore and sometimes aft. That's why I thought it was sway bar bushings.
No codes.

Did you go over the suspension to see if anything is loose? A slightly loose sway bar end link can pop and bang badly.

I'd guess shock first but it could be a ball joint or a bushing I suppose.
A torque tube bushing is more likely to cause vibrations than popping sounds.

Thanks fellas.
I'm now thinking the rear spindle needs to be lubed as described in

When does the noise happen - going from forward to reverse or when driving down the road?

Generally early in the AM when leaving the garage and neighborhood. It seems to happen less often after driving a few miles.
