i have used 1.54 (times the 1/8 number = 1/4 ET) --- seems to work for not heavily mod C5s. But super traction or big top end HP usually results in about a 2/10th error.
I agree. My correction factor (since I go to a 1/8 mile track quite often) is 1.545. My mph factor is 1.257.
My best 1/8 mile time before the converter install was 8.21 @87.55. Using my conversion factor yielded a 1/4 mile time to be 12.68 @110. I ran later at Ennis 12.73 @ 109, pretty close for comparison purposes.
Hmmm that is interesting. I've always used 1.57 as a rule of thumb on 1/8 to 1/4 conversions. I am going to borrow y'alls factors and see how they compare.
Mine is from 30 runs (24 1/8 mile runs and 6 1/4 mile runs) since I received my A4 in January 2002. I am sure the factor is not a hard fast number, because of mod/track/temp variations, etc. between all the cars. Most of my runs were in cool, dry weather, unfortunately, I will not see that again until October or November here in N.Texas.
Here is a good chart that shows correctio factors. The rest of the site is very useful for ET estimates and such. My olnly problem is I must use NET HP rather than RWHP for the 1/4 estimate to work right. Probably because of my 60' times.
