Default Upgrade Security System

I want to get rid of the annoying stock security system activated horn beep and replace with a siren chirp(s) and keep factory key fobs/features. Anyone found an after market system to do that? Thanks.....

Good question. All of the aftermarket systems I've seen came with their own remotes.

You can adjust the security system on the DIC to not sound the horn when activating/arming the system.

LuvinC5, thanks for the reply. I failed to mention in my first post that I wanted to continue having a audible confirmation of the secruity system activation. What I'm really looking for is just replacing the horn blowing with a chirp. The rest of the factory security system is adaquate for me. Am I the only one that finds blowing the horn to confirm security annoying (and a bit rude if someone is standing close by)? It seems to be the standard for most OEM systems.

Two well-known security systems dealers here in the Atlanta area won't touch late model vettes. They claim the intergrated electronics/computers are too complicated and too easily "screwed up" by replacing the OEM security system.

I guess finding the wire to the horn and sending the brief impulse to a siren is not that simple.

You can turn your horn off and do lights only to indicate you are secure.

Most aftermarket alarms can by wired to bypass the factory system. I have the Alpine 8080 system that was installed in 98 when I purchased my car. It has a multi function remote. It can arm/disarm alarm set valet mode and open the hatch. You can add additional modules for the windows or the fuel door.
