Default Keyless entry receiver issue???

I have a 2000 C5 and cannot get a second key fob to remain programmed. It will say it is programmed but as little as two minutes later it will cease working but key fob # 1 remains working. I have to be next to the drivers door for it to lock and unlock and just wondering if I may have a poor receiver.

I just had to change out my wheels and tires as rear polished 5 spoke cracked at the joint. I had the stock tires and rims so I put them on and now it is asking to program tires for TPMS. I have a very strong magnet and it is not responding. Again, wonder if it is the receiver.

When programming key fobs it takes any where from 20 40 seconds for first fob to be recoginized an same on second. Just seems like I should be able to lock and unlock the car from a distance, not right next to the drivers door.

Where exactly is the receiver located, and any other thoughts on why such poor reception or difficulty in programming remotes? Like I said it will program the original remote that came with the car but I have tried two other OEM remotes with fresh batteries and no luck.

Thanks for the help here!!!

Default Keyless Entry/TPMS Sensor Receiver Bad????

Also, now showing no reading on TPMS for either set of tires?

What is the easiest way to access the receiver? I have read where it is in the rear driver side near the speaker???
