Last December I bought and installed an Eckler's aftermarket drivers window regulator. This week it gave up. Has anyone else had problems with this regulator, or did I just have bad luck? It never was as fast as the original going up.
I want to see if I should try again or just ante up for a factory unit.
Thanks!!
I got my door replaced after my wife ran into it. My window goes up and down fine but when it goes down and stops my volt meter goes down 3 to 5 volts for a second or two. Does you meter go down too.
No, my volt meter does not go down, but neither does the window now!
The old one was crunching and grinding, so i repalced it with the Eckler's unit. The new one was always slower than the factory unit.
It is making grinding noises and does not go up or down correctly now. If i try to get it to go all the way up, it goes down. I am guessing that the cable is broken and wrapped the wrong way, so i need to get another regulator.
I am just trying to figure out if I got a bad one or if all the aftermarket (cheaper) ones are not as good as the factory unit.
I had to replace the regulator assembly in my '99 several months ago and I did use an OEM unit. I had no issues with it as its smooth, fast and quiet. Yes, put it in myself which is simple and of course re-adjusting the window took a whole 5 minutes.
