I had new rotors and pads put on my C5 vert. A caliper on the front right came loose and nearly threw me into a ditch. The mechanic admitted fault and contacted GM he said they told him that every brake job requires new caliper bolts torqued to 175 lbs. He is waiting for a washer that is missing. To do the last wheel the others he says have been done. Is this correct info?? I have a post on the C5 general forum about this but no response on the torque number and new bolts. Any one know??

The manuals, both 2001 and 2004 manuals, say 125 ft lbs. with a medium strength locktite.
125 ft lb on the bracket bolts and 23 ft lb on the pins.
I have never have one come loose when torqued to the spec even without using lock-tite and I have 145K (s)miles on my '01
The new bolts from GM come with a dab of their 'loctite' already on them......and I believe the manuals say they are a 'one use' item meaning replace them whenever the brackets are removed, not necessarily every 'brake job'. I might be a bit hazy on this point tho.......
RWS.1..........do you track your car? If so, I would count my lucky stars if I were you....
