Default Headlight Rattle

Hello, the passenger headlight rattles on my 99 FRC. It seems to have play in it up and down, but is solid side to side. It looks to me upon disassembly that the flat arm that connects the top to the actuator motor has some play in it where it is pinned at the top. The bottom side that is riveted in is tight.

Is there a bushing on that pin that may need replaced or is is possible to replace the entire assembly so the shake goes away? I know it isn't a big deal, but it bugs the crap out of me to see the shaking light on road signs and I'm kinda OCD about this car as I'm sure most of you can understand.

Thanks in advance.

I think I have the same problem with my driver side headlight. From what I can tell I do believe there is a pin with a bushing on it that was replaced by a previous owner with just a bolt . I have not completely removed the assembly for any repair as I was having too much fun driving and not that much of it at night. I found a salvage part that I think will resolve my problem and I will tackle that in the coming weeks when some really bad weather hits. Here is a link to the ad for the part I bought back in February.

I bought the "adjustment arm" in the second pic next to the headlight motor and the pin and the plastic bushing does not look like what's on my car now. I wont know for sure until I have it apart.

Thanks, I think the bushing is wasted on my pin. Looking at it that is where my rattle is coming from. All the other mounts/bolts/everything is tight. I'm going to pull it apart again this weekend and see what I can figure out. Is there a part number for the arm you bought our do you just have to get lucky and find one to buy from a parts car?

No part number, not available from GM. I checked, you have to buy the entire headlight assembly $$$$. They did have a blown apart diagram that helped me to locate what I thought might be the issue. I haven't seen another part like I bought since but I'm sure they are out there. Headlights take a beating in most wrecks but I doubt all the parts are destroyed. Good luck in your search.

That's what I was afraid of. If it is what I think it is I'll make a brass bushing on my lathe and hopefully fix it for good.
