To put this very clearly, ECS brace and Pfadt Trans brace serve two different functions:

ECS Brace: To strengthen the joint between the diff and Transmission.

Pfadt Brace: The Minimize/Eliminate Wheel hop and drivetrain movement under hard acceleration.

BOTH Braces can be used together.

Its doing pretty good, the brace almost completely eliminated the wheel hop I had. It will still do it under the right conditions, but it depends on the road surface and temperature. Something else that should be taken into consideration is suspension components get worn over time which will also contribute to wheel hop. Im about to get all new suspension for my car which should help even more.
It used to start hopping as soon as the tires started to lose traction and would even do it going into second.

Right now it looks like Ill be going with complete c5 Z06 suspension as I have a source that is putting coilovers on his car and upgrading his sways. So Ill have 04 z06 shocks if the price is right, hes supposed to be getting back to me this afternoon. If this deal falls through for some reason then I will probably get c6 z51 sways, c6 z06 shocks and c5z springs because it looks like c6 springs will not fit the c5...

Yea the 04 C5Z shocks have 3200 on them and with the sways its only 2 mm up front and one in back if Im not mistaken. And yes it all depends on the price, if I had the money I would probably go with coilovers. But then I want other stuff too, those itb's you have would be awesome.

Yea I figured, and I'm still on the fence with coilovers, for th price, they just don't seem to be cost effective. And Duddee I sold them to a friend

Yea you dont want to have anything too radical on a street car because then it tends to become uncomfortable on the street, pluss there is just n need for it.
And its good to be back, didnt seem like I had too much time for cars this past summer when I got back but I did manage to get some lg super pros installed.

Yea I do too, I guess thats why I ran the longtubes with cat less x pipe and loudmouths for a while. Got the ti's on there now and I can pull up without people hearing me a couple miles away, still pretty loud when I get on it though Just need to get some cutouts and it will be the best of both worlds.

Yea I would still have the loudmouths if I wasnt basically given the Ti's. Now I need to upgrade my suspension then I can add some more power. Still not sure what I want to do next though.

Wheel hop has been discussed many times on this, and other forums. In the case of straight axle cars, the culprit is axle windup, which ruins the angle of driveshaft to pinion. On these cars, the fix is to keep the axle housing from twisting by bracing it against the leaf springs, or adding welded links. On our Corvettes, it's been called "driveline shake", and will break things if you continue to have it. I believe it's caused by much the same phenomenon that's the cause in straight axle cars; namely axle windup. In the case of the Corvette's IRS, you can't cure it the same way because of the design, so if I'm correct, the Pfadt bar is not needed if you have the brace connecting the diff to the trans. Like I said, I'm getting an ECS brace when I re-install my diff, which should be sufficient for a non-race car. If ECS could chime in, regarding my theory, that'd be good, 'cause I'm just guessing.
