Recurring 02 C5 Z06 problem happens most after car has been run, shut off, then restart ( at autocross events ). Ignition on and security light flashes but will not engage starter. While in warranty, dealer replaced both BCM's and PCM, new ignition + keys and clutch switch. Turned off VATS via tuner. Then this weekend, same problem. Turned the key and nothing. Pushed her back in trailer. Took to dealer this morning and fired right up.
Anyone had a VATS like problem that turned out to be something other than VATS?

You can't completely bypass the VATS in tuning. The VATS in done in the BCM and the BCM controls the relay to disable the starter.
The BCM just gives a signal to the PCM to allow it to start the engine. You can bypass this part with tuning, but you can't bypass the VATS cutting off the starter or lighting the security light with tuning.
So, try connecting the proper resistor value to the wires from the BCM and just bypass the VATS.
