Superyank 3500 doesn´t lock up need help.
It´s the same TC we use in our C5´s so I hope someone can help.
The TC seems not to lock up.
During driving in town (usually during 1500 and 3000rpm`s) it never locks up. Always stalls and brings up the tranny temp.
I have a high stall TC also and know that it unlocks under heavy load, but as soon as I let off the gas a bit it locks up again.
His doesn´t do that.
We stopped for a tank stop and after that it seems that it locks up, but as soon as you ease in the gas it unlocks again and stalls up to about 3500.
After some driving it never locks up again.
He´s very frustrated and want´s to put in the stock TC again as it´s not
possible to drive the car (especially in town) with a not locking TC (sounds like an always slipping clutch).
That are things my Tc doesn´t do, it´s still locked up, down to 1000 rpms....
and doesn´t unlock under acelleration and only unlocks if I really go heavy load.
Need urgent help!!!
Thanks,
Michael

He sais that it seems the TC lockes up above 40mph now.
Problem is that he drives a lot in all day traffic as it´s his all day driver and he NEEDS to lock up the TC under that speed, or it´s useless for him. He never get´s that mph i town.
He has 3.07 gears, so can that be the problem.
Is the TC so loose because of the low gears??
How much better would that be with shorter gears (how much shorter?) and would the TC lock up earlier then??
And would the TC "hold" the lockup better with shorter gears , also?
He hates it to drive in town now as it sounds like he drives a car with a damaged (bad slipping)clutch.
Michael
Hope this helps.

Hope this helps.

Can it be the gears (he has 3.7 and I have 3.43) effecting that so much??
