Default Clutch Markings.

So I got my clutch kit today. I went with the Brute Power 91112 from of all places Amazon. $325.00 with free shipping. So the flywheel is obviously GM with the GM ground off. The Disc is stamped LUK just like the one I took out. So is that how the OE ones were marked? I guess it could have had a clutch before at 70K but I see no signs it was previously apart.

There were two hard metal weights in the old flywheel and I transfered them per the factory manual and the instructions tips in the kit. I didn't read the manual before pulling the flywheel but it is evedent from the mark patterns the 7th holes were lined up as one would think they should. Hard to believe those two little steel dowels would make that much difference.

Wonder how much GM saved per engine eliminating a keyed damper and a dowel for the flywheel?? Guess I shouldn't talk since I bought a cheap clutch but come on...how much does a dowel pin cost?? 10cents?

..and here's why the perfection and brute power setups are inexpensive:

Perfection Chinese produced product 100% engineered to OEM tolerance and performance specifications
Guaranteed to meet/surpass OEM minimum of 1,000,000 clutch engagements
State of the art production facilities in China
ISO 9002 certification in both Perfection China based operations
Perfection uses steel imported from Germany for pressure plate production in China

I wasn't asking for a political discussion. Everything I get from GM says made in Mexico...heck, even Hondas have parts made in China.

So is LUK the OE manufacturer or what?

Thanks for the info. Given this and no evidence of previous work, I will assume this is the original clutch.
