Default LS7 flywheel info needed

recently i purchased a ls7 clutch from a forum member. the flywheel gm part number that i got with the clutch is 120496901. ive tried to look this number up on gm part sites and it doesnt come up. from what i can see the ls7 flywheel part number should be 12571611. anyone know anything about the flywheel i have? is it an ls7 flywheel? i was under the impression the ls7 flywheels where lighter...i think this is actually heavier than the ls6 flywheel. just by holding the 2 and comparing. appreciate any info or help here.

thanks
matt

Matt, the flywheel number you show has too many numbers. Is this a cast in number on the flywheel?

Eric,
Unless something has changed, I believe the casting number and part number are different for the LS flywheels. I double checked my old LS1 flywheel, and the number cast into it, does not match the GM part number in the parts manual.

Yeah, I believe you are correct. What I can do is look the print up for the flywheel, The prints sometimes include the casting number. I can also get the nominal weight as well.

Mass of LS7 to LS6/LS1 flywheel - LS7= 26.5 lbs - LS6/LS1= 25.1 lbs

If there is a Luk number for LS7 in casting it should be A1904974 or something like this.
For current LS6/LS1 flywheel part number, 12551348
For current LS7 the flywheel part number, 12571611

Hope this is of some help..
