Soooooooooooooooooo,,,,,, TRUE my brother!!!!!!!!!The truth is,,,,,,,,,,,,,, There are only TWO types of shifters.. Stock, NON SPRING ASSISTED TO NEUTRAL & (Aftermarket) SPRING ASSISTED TO NEUTRAL
Other than that,,, there pretty much the same EXCEPT for % height above the ball (fulcrum rate)
I
Agree,,,,,,,,, you have to experience a shifter to see IF,,,,,, its the one for YOU!For MY vote

(Deviant LS6) KIRBAN shifter with a Delrin ****.

KIRBAN,,,, is an excellent shifter!
(SPRING LOADED TO NEUTRAL)I have had TWO,,,, C6's...... 06 Coupe MN6 & 2011 MN6 GS VERT and,,,,,,, BOTH of the C6 shifters on that platform trans,,,,,,more than adequately preformed flawlessly and did not need an aftermarket shifter!
I can NOT say that for the C5 platform!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That OEM shifter/TRANS, seems to respond very well to aftermarket shifters..

Need to find some people around you who have aftermarket shifters and are willing to let you drive the car. You cant let someone else be the judge on this for you, like the shifter I have is ok but I would like something that has a little shorter throws if possible and sits lower but I dont want to dump money on them only to find out I dont care for it. I just need to find some people in my area with some c5s...
There is nothing "wrong" with the factory shifter. However, to many people, the factory shifter feels vague and the throws are very long. I am one of those people. I run a B&M Ripper with the "anti-venom" detent washer mod. Shifts are much more positive, and the throw is much shorter. I feel it is much better than the original shifter for my purposes.
