Default brake pad and line question?

I just installed stainless steel lines and hawk hp plus pads. I also changed the brake fluid with super blue dot 4 fluid, and bled the brakes. I took the car out to break in the pads, and the pedal didnt feel that stiff. It feels mushier, than stock. I then did a couple of stops to break in the brake pads, and when I stopped hard from 50mph it just didnt feel right? Lots of screaching of the tires and the brake pedal felt mushy, with vibrations as well. Anyone have these brake pads in? What do they feel like? Was I supposed to resurface the rotors before install? Thanx for any feedback :chevy

Mike I always thought that you should break the pads in easy before doing some hard stops. I have the hawk pads along with my new eradispeed rotors and broke them in easy and no problems. I also have the stock brake lines. You should have that checked.

The car is at Vette Docs as we speak, I love surprising Carmen with a night drop :D As far as the breaking in period, I'm only doing what the instructions said that came with the pads. It says to first make 6-8 light stops from 35-40 mph, and then do 2-4 hard stops from 45-50mph. I drove the car last night, and it does stop, but it feels funny, and that's a sign that something isnt right
