Default Upper Control Arm Shim Question

I bought a 2003 Z06 and I'm getting it ready for Time Attack over the winter.
I would like to get at least -2.5 degrees camber in the front.
Do I just unbolt the control arm and remove the shims? Or is there pressure on it and more needs to be done before hand?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

I unloaded mine with a floorjack under the lower ball joint area. Of course the car was anchored on the frame rack. I would think the weight of the car would be sufficient. If the shock compresses you should be good.

Those washers aren't very thick. I don't see removing them getting a lot of camber change??

There is no shim removal required. The front and rear lower control arm bolts are mounted with eccentric adjusting bolts. Camber and caster are adjustable in the front, camber is adjustable in the rear. If you dial in negative camber you will also have to adjust the toe angle, this goes for the rear also.
I suggest you study the suspension adjustment points carefully before you go moving things around.

OK. Thanks. Good to know that I don't have to unbolt the whole suspension to get them out.
Hopefully I can get -2.5* by lowering the car, shim removal and the eccentric bolt.

let me know if you need a camber kit. this kit replaces the eccentrics and pushes the bottom of the wheel out as far as it will go. (max neg camber) http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...-kit-pics.html

I wish I could use it but I'm going to be running in Showroom Stock. So I'm limited on what I can do. Shocks are the only thing I can change in the suspension. I can't wait to get this car on the track.
