I have a 99 coupe and I am trying to find the part number for the wather stripping attached to the Wiper Cowl that is between the Windshield and the wiper cowl. I went to the dealership and they said you could only buy the entire piece and not the weather strip seperately. I also looked through online GM catalogs and was not able to find a part number.
What does everyone else do to replace the weather strip or does everyone just buy the full wiper cowl replacement part? I have done several searches and only found people talking about aftermarket carbon fiber replacements.

The piece you're looking for is not available as a separate item from GM or the aftermarket.
If you're going to buy a new assembly, do NOT go to your local steal.... uh, dealership. Buy it from Gene at GMpartshouse.com or maybe Bob at Fichtner Chev. At least it will cost you considerably less then. They are both forum vendors.

I checked at McMaster-Carr and found a couple possibilities in the universal weatherstripping category that may possibly work. You might also check Grainger as well or maybe even A&M SoffSeal, they may have something that could be used. What ever it is, it would have to be something fairly thin and with some sort of "flange" to be able to attach it to the backside of the plenum.
