Tomorrow morning I am going to remove the stock hood liner on my 2003 Anny Red. I am replacing it with an embroidered liner with the 50th Anny symbol. Any tips on how to take out the old clips without destroying the liner? How about any tips on replacing the new one?

While they are out you can dress it up . Go to Lowes and buy some Stainless steel sink hole covers. You can pop them over the black plastic body plugs to make that new hood liner sparkle
The ones I bought have radial teeth that are meant to spring out and hold the cover in place. Once you have this cover over the black plastic body plug, just bent the teeth around the back of the plug and insert the body plug to hold the new liner in place.
You might have to trim the plastic plugs a bit, a pair of kitchen scissors works well.
If you don't want to do that to the stock plugs most autoparts stores sell replacement body plugs

sounds pretty awesome, do you have any pics of your hood liner done like this?
The removal and replacement went very easily yesterday. I used an upholstery type tool I got in a kit at Harbor Freight and it worked well. Be sure to cover the entire engine compartment with a sheet. The first one I popped off went into the engine bay area and now I cannot find it. The new embroidered cover looks great! thanks for all the ideas and suggestions...

I used the BBQ fork method, you need to be careful not to cut the liner, stick the fork under the plug and place a piece of cardboard under the sharp points to protect the liner from being cut, then kind of wiggle it out! Another method I used was to take a wire clothes hanger and wrap the corner around the plastic plug and pull. If you are using the same plugs to hold the new one, it may be best to buy a couple of new ones in case you break one or loose one somehow
