Default Twilight feature

Hi all,
I have an 02 z06 - is it possible to add the twilight feature to it? If so, how?

thanks,
Mike

I'd say no, since it is all in the PCM. Can't say for sure though.

I have it in my 02 vert, but usually leave it off. I don't like the headlights popping up all the time.

michfull,

I ordered the feature on my 1999 C5 coupe. After using it briefly, I turned it off because the headlights were always opening when I started the car in the garage. It is a useless feature.

Same here, I turned it off within the first 3 days, would not get it again.

Ditto here also, turned mine off the first day I got the car. Forgot I even have that feature now.

that doesn't make any sense then, if it is just a pcm change then why leave it off. i figured there was some additional component needed that added weight which is why it isn't on there.

I had the ALC (automatic light control) on my GTP and got quite used to it. You couldn't turn it off but it could be defeated by pulling a fuse. On cloudy days the lights would cycle on and off and sometimes became annoying.

With my C5 the lights popped up every time I started it in the garage, which became extremely annoying so I turned the Twilight Sentinal off.

Good point. Obviously there is a light sensor too, but the total weight has to be trivial.

Don't know why it was left off.

Contrary to the other posts, I like it and leave it on.

here in Canada we try to disable this feature without success, some of us have to install a resistor to make it go away.
It strange for someone asking for it

I can see why this would be annoying if you didn't have the choice. To me it seems like a cool feature and if it was easy to turn on (add a sensor?) I'd probably do it just to try it out. I could always turn it off later. Anybody have a clue why it wasn't available on the z06. Weight? I'm sure the computer is the same as any other c5.

thanks,
Mike

I turned off Twilight the first week - as soon as I figured out the D.I.C.
Never used it since - a real pain inside garage, etc.

I can't stand this feature. I have my Vette parked in a parking garage and it flips the headlights everytime I start the car, and everytime I come home and drive in the garage.

I turned off this feature the very first day and totally forgot that it exists.

Rick...
