Default Igntion OFF and DIC errors scrolling?

I've read these threads for four years and thought I could search and find about anything problem that could come up but here's one I can't find and don't remember reading about.

I've been trackng down an intermittent A6 SCM No Comm error for a couple days. Removed the seat and couldn't find anything. Straighten some pins, etc. Examined the SCM module with a magnifiying glass and didn't find anything to fix. The passenger seat works fine and sometimes after moving it the drivers seat starts working. Weird, but I'll figure that out.

Here's what baffled me yesterday while checking out this other stuff.

Three times when I cycled the ignition off error messages starting scrolling across the DIC. Service tire mom...., low voltage...., and several others. Now this is with the ignition OFF!.

Sould like flaky ignition switch to you all?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

A couple of things come to mind from threads here in the forum. Ignition switch itself could be having issues. The BCM, is the floor wet there in front of it or any water on or inside the BCM itself? For the driver's seat, is the floor wet there at the connectors? Lose pins will cause issues. What is the state of the battery and have you measured the static voltage across it when the ignition is off, with a meter?

Never tried this and it's just a hmmmm..what if. Would the DIC still be active with the switch off because of the retained power? If you open the door so the power cut off, would that stop the scrolling? Not that it would fix the errors, which may be a low battery?, but is that why you see them with the switch off?

All of the above listed issues can cause the problems your having. Check these also:

Check for corrosion on the BCM Circuit Board.

Door connector for damaged/spread female pins

I am not 100% but if memory serves me, all of the warning messages on the DIC scroll by once the ignition is turned off everytime! I believe this to be normal. My TPMS does not work and I get this message EVERYtime the ignition is turned off. I also get the Low Fuel message if I have run the fuel low. Anyone else see this?

Same here, it will also chime when the messages go across.

I guess since I haven't had the errors I never noticed them scrolling after I shut the key off.

I had the seat out and didn't find anything obvious, took panel off the BCM and fuses. Everything is dry. Checked the passenger door harness since I was on that side of the car, then ran out of time.

Oh, and I took the 800/1000/115 battery out of my truck and put in it. It's about a year old. Didn't check voltage yet but will.

I'm thinking about leaving the seat unplugged and see if the other errors quit appearing. Sound like a good plan? I belive that's out Superman?? found his serial problem a couple of years ago and narrowed it down to his receiver.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll check more tonight.

Default All is GOOD!

I found it!

Broken wire right at the green connector on the SCM under the seat.

Thanks for all the trouble shooting tips you guys post on the forum. I let the car sit for three day and checked the battery and voltage was 12.27. Then I check voltage at the seat connector which led me to KNOW the problem was under the seat!

Thanks for all the diagrams too!

All is good!!!! A6-SCM NO CODES
