Hi all, got a question for the honker owners out there. Were you able to use the stock radiator cover with this set up?
I got a used honker with the shroud already modified and the holes for the radiator don't line up and is throwing off the alignment to to throttle body.
I'm guessing that the hole that was cut in the shroud was off a little....read a few hours of post last nite and found nothing about this not fitting well, also pics I saw were showing the radiator cover in place. Thanks for any help and advice

yes, if I were you I would just pull the pins on the cover and not use them.
yea I wouldn't be able to pin it, because it won't line up with the filter area and bolt down. but it still doesn't line up to the throttle body I have 2 hoses one is slighty bent.
the way I have it now is ....bolted in at filter and the large hose that goes over the radiator is about an inch or more higher than the throttle body
The pins on the radiator cover didn't line up on mine either because it was just very slightly off when cutting the hole. No big deal, it fit better anyway without the pins. Still totally satisfied with the Honker.

Well unfortunately this my only pic that was worth posting, I'll have to get some in the AM...the bottom part, where the filter goes seems a little too low and as it comes up and over the radiator it puts the accordion hose and maf a bit higher then the thottle body it doesn't feel like it would bend down enough to attach it. am I missing a hose??
As I had posted, I pulled the pins on the cover to make the Honker fit down better. For the first few years I had it on I used it with the pins. It would fit on the pins with just a little forcing, but it was rubbing on the hood insulation panel and wore a hole in it. The pin alignment was pushing it upward. I've got a new panel and by pulling the pins it doesn't rub.
Doesn't sound like the original installation was done correctly by the previous owner. I spent two days measuring and re-measuring before doing mine. The old adage measure twice and cut once comes into play here.
Well, after alot of wiggling I got this thing together.
I'll be refitting it next week to my stock fan shroud because the connections at the hoses is not as secure as it should be. The PO didn't cut it in the right place nor did he use enough rivets causing gaps between the shroud and filter box.I am also going to install some screen at the bottom of the car to capture some of the larger debris.
I can't believe how little the air hole is on the stock air box. Callaway claims only 26 percent more air flow, seems more like 90 percent, the filter is larger than stock. Any after market system is got to be better than the stock system...I got a great deal on this unit and the effort is worth it for sure.
Showing the gaps and alignment and the radiator cover
Showing the throttle body hose connection had to put it this way so unit would line up to where the filter box would hook up
Mine was a tad out of alignment as well so I trimmed the tabs off the Honker. I've since removed the shroud pins as well. It ain't goin nowhere anyhow with the 4 '*****' holding it in place.
