Wire Welding on C5
I had a muffler pipe break on my C5. I was going to wire weld it back together. Someone said I have to unhook my computer and battery before welding the pipe back together. It this true, if so any special directions and anything else I need to do before welding?

Disconnecting the battery is a must.Disconnecting the computer(s) is probably a good idea too, but isn't usually done. When welding on the vehicle attach the ground directly to the piece you are welding as close to the place you a welding and if the parts you are welding are not joined together at some point, use a ground strap to connect the two pieces together before welding.You should be damage free.
