It's a 2002 Z. Last week I attempted to start it and nothing happened, the gauges did light up and the speedo and tach did their normal sweep. But that was it. I attempted to strart it several times and after about 5 min it started up. I have driven the car several times since. Well this morning it did not start again with same symptoms. I waited like last time and still nothing. Could this be a problem with the battery or something more technical? Any help is appreciated.

Did the engine crank or did you just hear a 'click'?
There was no sound from anything. Tried starting it with the garage door closed so that it was quiet. I'm trying to figure how to pull the codes on the DIC.

Funny, the other day mine did the same thing. Turned the key, and click. Tried it again and it fired up. Never had that happen before.
Thanks for the helpfull ideas. My (Master Mechanic) wife got it started. She jiggled the keys inside the ignition and it started, which explains why it started last week after the same symptoms. I guess it will go to a dealership to get the ignition checked. Thanks again for the suggestions (8VETTE7 thanks for the site I could not find earlier).
The same thing happened to me with my 98 coupe with intermittant starting and it turned out to be my starter. While troubleshooting I got under my car and noticed that the battery cable seemed to be loose at the starter but the nut was not loose, the whole stud coming out of the starter was loose, replaced the starter and problem solved.
