Default Door Plug Fix

When I bought my '99 FRC both of the door plugs were missing and I went and bought a set at the dealer. Way too expensive for what you are getting.
I was pretty careful putting the first one in and yet those incorrectly engineered fingers broke leaving the plug flopping around. So I used a piece of double sided foam tape to hold it in place. The second plug I fixed with some Plastic Weld as can be seen in the picture.
The fingers are now strong enough to install and remove as many times as may be needed. I used the DSFT on the second one because they are just too loose as designed.

YMMV

I got through about 3 plugs before I used some 3M double sided tape to keep it in place.

You can't buy anything for 25 cents except two dimes and a nickel. The diealer has some overhead in ordering and stocking them. That's one of the cheapest things you'll ever buy for a car (not just a Corvette). It is almost twice what the dealer in Kannapolis, NC charged me, but still cheap. The tube of stuff to fix it with costs more than the plug. Wait till you try to buy the reflector in the door, you'll have a stroke.
