SPEC stage 2 clutch?
i have a 420 RWHP 450 RWTQ C5 that am swapping the clutch on. do you think the spec stage 2 will hold what i need? i plan on tracking the car once or twice with slicks to get the 1/4 mile time after that it will be all street. stage 2 should work right?
also when company's like spec and thus alike rate their clutches for xxx torque does that mean break torque or rear wheel torque?

I have a spec stage two on my o2 and I have 495 rwhp and 465 rwtq. I road race and the clutch is fine, not sure about drag racing though. Good luck, as clutch reccomendations and choices seem like a crap shoot, unless you spend big money on a pure racing clutch.

IMO, I would go with the SPEC 3+, very little difference in price. I would also add a Tick Master while you were at it. It's a little stiffer but the adjustability and speed bleeder just make it sooo much worth the money, especially since you're changing out the clutch already. The 3+ should be fine all the way up to 600RWHP and actually has some good shifting qualities as far as near stock. It has been working fine on my 550+ w/ zero problems. Hope this helps.

SPEC Stage 2
I used a new Spec Stage 3 to handle 519 at the tires and it hooked up fine but I removed it a few months later due to the lack opf a smooth engagement. It's for sale at a reasonable price. Great product for drag or road racing but I didn't appreciate the engagement characteristics for street.

I'd look at the Monster clutches. I've installed 100 of clutches over the years from several manufacturers including Spec, and I feel Monster is offering the best product for the money right now. Their Stage 2 is very smooth and works great on all stock hydraulics.
