Finding someone who can set those gears up might be a problem. Check around before you buy. A lot of people find it easier and even less expensive to just buy the whole diff.

I agree do the differential swap. The guys at West Coast Corvette's did mine. If you do have it done check your speedo. The speed sensor is on the axel and there should be no effect however, there was with mine and the computer needed to be reset.
complete diff swap?? thats too much $ compared with just change the gears..
Im telling ya, Buy the time you pay someone to do just gears, and possiable wont be right, You might as well buy the whole diff. Can wait to get mine back.. Its in the shop now
If this any help my tuning shop quoted me like $1350 for the gears, install kit, and install minus tax but I'm going to just save up for a whole new diff with the hardened output shafts and higher gears
In February I had Rick Kim of RKT56 build me a diff with 3.90 gears. I highly recommend his work! Our diffs are not something you want to try your self if you're not building them all the time. It's not just a gear swap. It is going to take someone who knows what they are doing to get it right. I know in comparison buying the gears is less expensive but in the long run it's better to have someone build the diff who knows what they are doing.
When I put the diff in that Rick built for me I also did a cam swap and a little head work. I can't tell you how much more fun the car is to drive now.
Good luck on your decision and if I were you I'd call Rick and discuss what you'd like to do. He's an A+ guy and a whiz on our diffs.
