Default Help, need headers... 1 3/4" vs. 1 7/8"

I cracked my ls6 block (#7 piston busted) and now am having to buy a new block, decided to go back with a 346ci. When it's all finished it will have forged internals, cam, A&a blower. For my car, do you think there would be a big difference in power depending on the headers I decide to purchase?

1 3/4"vs. 1 7/8"?

Anyone on here have a good experience with a certain brand with similar setup or power? I really don't want to spend $2k on a set of headers (this has already gone WAY over budget)

Thanks for any light you can shed!

Its STILL a 5.7 engine............ Unless you plan on some serious power adders or MAJOR mods down the line,,, your 1 3/4 Primary headers should work very well! I'm EASILY supporting 450 RWHP with my STAINLESS WORKS 1 3/4 primary headers and 3" mid section/mufflers.

I'd agree except that BIG DISPLACEMENT and even MEDIUM BOOST are the same thing. 10 psi effectively turns this into an 8 liter rather than just a 5.7L.

How much power are you hoping to make out of it?

I was at 554rwhp before with a stock motor and blower (>9psi)... estimating with headers, cam, & forged internal (more boost if I want) 600-650 probably?

If you are in the market for headers because you need them, I would buy 1 7/8ths. If you have 1 3/4 already and you are happy with the fit and quality, know that there are plenty of cars at those numbers with 1 3/4 primaries though maybe they are leaving just a little bit on the table.
