Default Purpose of CCV

What is the purpose of the CCV from the valve cover to the TB? (97 C5 LS1)

Not talking about the PCV setup, just the CCV.. is there any difference?

Thanks in advance!

That's to allow fresh filtered air into the crankcase in conditions where it's under vacuum. The PCV system has a check valve that only allows gas out of the crankcase and into the intake manifold. When there is vacuum, it needs to be able to suck from somewhere.
