I am going to attempt to do this myself, but I haven't found instructions for the 2001/2002 install, only the earlier model that doesn't require the adapter. Can you send me your links to good instructions for the install? I have seen the install here in tech tips, but I'm just looking for other instructions that may be a little more detailed and do include the adapter.
Thanks!
Update: Got the job done in about an hour...really took my time. Very straightforward, and there were some excellent instructions with great pictures on the C5 Forum site. Took all the guesswork out of it for me. Today I put the BW on as well as the CAGS Eliminator. Next is the Corsa Indy exhaust, but I'll pay someone to take care of that for me!
P.S. Got my first official wave yesterday...almost missed it, but returned the wave before he was out of my sight. A great tradition!
I installed a BW recently on my 2002. No real difference from the standard instructions except that you use the larger soft coupler instead of the small one. It's very straight-foward.
What Patches said is correct. Also--there is a rubber gommet thing on the Blackwing, that must be removed from the Blackwing so you can attach it. The 2002's have a larger opening than the earlier models.
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Hopefully, someone else will chime in the a more techincal explaination.
Good Luck and enjoy. I really like my Blackwing!!!!!!! :cool:
Am I missing something here. Do these things come with instructions? I'm getting ready to order mine and this seems absurd that everytime I see a Blackwing post it's for two things;
1 - Didn't get instructions how do I install or clean it?
2 - Why are folks cleaning these already? A K&N can go over 25K miles before they recommend a cleaning. What is the recommended cleaning mileage for a B/W?
