Locating possible coolant leak
I am trying to locate the source of some crusting on top of the 3 water hoses which enter the engine near the top (lower radiator hose, 2 heater hoses).
I also see some crusting on the radiator side of a smaller hose near the radiator whose purpose I don't know.
The only moisture I've seen after driving is a droplet of liquid on one of the hoses and some moisture on the engine near the hoses, but doesn't seem to be coming from the hoses (far as I can tell). I see no obvious leaks while the engine is idling, and the coolant reservoir appears full (or at least not empty).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Should I look for the leak while revving the engine? I was about to blindly start replacing hoses, but thought I'd try the Forum first.

No clue what it could be from but I would try cleaning it off to see if it comes back, also keep an eye on your coolant level. If all checks out in a few weeks dont worry about it too much.

Can't say I've ever seen coolant leave a white residue unless it was boiled away. The white spot on the water pump wouldn't be coolant.
Do you park outside? Perhaps birds or something roosting under hood? The drops don't look like they blew around while the car was moving. Anything in the radiator fins near that small return line?
I agree with m6 c5, clean it off and see if they return. And get a cat.
