Default C5 18 X 12 wheels

House of wheels sells a C6 style 18 X 12 wheel for C5's. The tire size is 335/30/18. With removal of the rear cooling ducts, it is claimed there are no rubbing issues. One member endorses this saying he had slight rubbing but had lowered the car. Does anyone else have experience with these wheels and tires? I am considering these wheels and tires for the track.

that does not make since, the c6 offset is less in the rear so it would be sucked in. my 305mm on 19" look close to rubbing, i wanted to put on the 325 but they were out of stock, was told that they might rub.
on the other hand mine is lower.

I would find out if the other guy had a C6 wheel, and if he was running a spacer.

No rubbing if you dont do high speed corning. Tire flex with higher speed corners will cause inside the wheel well and tire to rub.

so the wheel offset will make a difference too.

and YES you will need a 3/8" spacer and longer studs.

i use to run 18x12 CCW classics in back they rubber all the time. Dont NOW no inner liner any longer. Long rubber out years ago.

Now I run 18x13" CCW classics in back with a 3/4" fender flair

I got some wheels that are 18x12 and with 335x30x18 tires with a 44mm offset. No problem on the inside but they stuck out about 1/2 inch past the fenders. So needed to get fender flares or L5 fenders. Didn't want to do that so mounted them on another car.

You didn't read the post-it said C6 style for C5s-offset is for C5s.
To OP-they fit fine on my vert, lowered with no rubbing(see sig).

i have 18x12 C5Z replicas from House of Wheels that work on my C5Z with no issues. I run 335's on the rear with no rubbing. Yes, I did remove the rear air duct. Please pm me any questions or requests for pics.

I've been on the fence a long time looking at the House of Wheels C6 18X12" with C5 offsets.
How about some of you posting pictures of how much sticks out of the wheel well?
Another question is what brand of tires are you running in the 335 size?

Wheels will stick out about 3/4 of an inch. I put the C6 Z06 rear mud guards on mine, easy to do and looks better.

Not to Hi-jack the thread, but people that removed the rear ducting. Did you absolutely have to remove it. Could it have been modified. I was also considering 335 30 18.

With the wheels I am using I had no choice but to remove the duct. I believe those who go the tubbed route have to do the same also.

not to thread jack, as this is semi-related, but our cars rear tub is a plastic/fiberglass type of material. looks extremely easy to do a DIY mini tub job on it.. there's several sites showing what dont appear to be hard DIY weekend projects towards that effect.

just food for thought. ive purchased all the material necessary to extend my wells, just havent had a free weekend to get out there and try it.

all of my research, as well as a member here who was pretty cool about calling a local reputable speed shop/Corvette specialist in Houston said that you can remove OR shave it back. so its possible to keep it. i didnt buy them from that guy on these forums as i didnt want to deal with it until after i'd done the mini tub and could better assess that, so take it for what it's worth.
