Only when braking hard, I have a loud and violent vibration from the rear of my c5. I've been told three different things it could be:
Warped rear rotors
pads with uneven wear
the shoes for the e brake
What do you think? I wouldn't say the shoes cause the e brake isn't applied under normal braking. I just need to know the parts to order before putting it in the shop on a lift while I get the parts I need.
Im thinking warped rotors which of course would be new rotors and pads
if its warped rotors, it's taken the pads with it. if it's uneven pads, its probably taken the rotors with it..
i'm not a mechanic, so i cant say for the ebrake, but ive never personally seen/heard of it dragging on hard brakes?
only time ive warped a rotor, it wobbled around on ANY braking, so going with a text based description, i'd say get the pads/rotors.

Get it up in the air and check the suspension. Loose shocks, sway bar end link, etc. Without hearing it or seeing it it's hard to say. If you have a warped rotor you should be getting one side or the other to chirp as it grabs and then lets go when hard braking. Just my .02. Be safe, Rod
the fact it only does it on hard braking is the only thing that made me hesitate. that could be something loose.. cus warped is warped, no matter the speed.
Warped rotor to me, too. It only takes one for the whole rear to feel bad. If you need rotors go to www.brakemotive.com. For the price of two, you can get four plus pads, shipped too. I previously had bad rotors and these cleared up my problem and are good quality.
