They have been at Faerman's getting a 5 angle valve job and milled a little. Been without my car for over 3 weeks, which almost killed me!
Drove to Houston and back, then went into the shop this evening to put it all back together. Had to stop, but will be able to finish it up in the morning.
looking good man. how the heck are you piston tops so clean ? lol i have to be carful with projects like these bc they always turn into "while your in there" projects. good work
Did you have them flow the heads before and after? Im sure you've already been asked, but why didnt you pick up a set of 243s or 799s?

Just soak a rag down with carb cleaner and the tops of the pistons wipe clean very easily.

I wanted 243's or such but after the Christmas spending binge, I was left with the only option of getting my 806's rebuilt after the blue smoke at start-up sickness hit.
I'm still going to shoot for a Mast Motorsports engine later when I get the cash saved up.
I'm still going to get a bump in HP but more like 20 additional ponies instead of a 40hp bump.
How much did you have them mill off? I took the 799s to 61cc and the exhaust has a different sound to it now. I think you'll like the new sound from the increased compression.
Just finished it up! All I have to do now is wait for the girlfriend to bring me back some power steering fluid! Then I can start it up! I'm hoping everything is OK.
Nice to see it all back together Rick, I'm waiting on a new cam before I can start putting mine back together. They said it should take them about a week before it's done. That should certainlly put a smile on your face when you get to fire it up!
It's dark and I was in my PJ's for the evening.......but couldn't stand it any longer. Went outside and started it up and drove it a couple of miles.....WHHHOOOOOOOOOO HHOOOOOOOO!
Did you have the 806's ported or just milled? Could you tell a difference in power?
As I said before the 806's had a 5 angle valve job which I'm told by Dennis Faerman is better flowing. The heads were milled a small amount cause I didn't want to risk PTV clearance issues cause of my cam.
As far as telling a difference, there is a change in how the exhaust sounds and more torque. I say more torque cause the car seems to have much more "Pull" and accelerates more quicker and easier.
I don't really know what it feels like at higher RPMS until I drive it a little more cause I never went above 4000 rpms on the first ride.
I'll know more once I get the car out on the highway tomorrow and put some miles on it.

Video tomorrow!
Yea, Couldent stand it, could you rick. I wouldent have been able to wait either.... Did It start right up for ya....
Took it out this morning, noticed when coming to a stop the rpms hang and come back down when stopped. Once stopped it idles then surges a little then back down, then repeats. Maybe I should let it re-learn and wait before I trouble shoot or pull my HP Tuner laptop out and jack with it?
