Default Smoked top crazing removal?

I'm currently refinishing my top and removing the clear coat wasn't too bad but I have a bunch of crazing. I'm wondering if that can be removed?

I've done a search and found one post saying it can be done but I'm wondering if that's true and how much material that needs to be removed?

Thoughts gents??

Mine looked terrible before with the peeling and crazing so I sanded the crap out of it with a D/A and clear coated it and it looks good now with no crazing.

Take as much off as you dare and clear coat it. It'll still look much better from both the outside and inside even if it has some crazing left.

What grit paper did you use with the DA? I am starting on my top in the next few weeks.

I started with 220 but it went slowly and I was using a DA sander. I'm going to go to 100 or so when I go after the crazing.. The clear coat is pretty hard.

Some place I read that the top is in "layers".. Well, it is!! How do I know?
I went through... ;-( Use caution with the low sand paper numbers.. I was using
120.

1/3 of the entire top layer on my roof was already peeled off - bought it like that this past fall. The roof is on my work bench now, and I've found that a single edged razor blade works wonders to take the top layer off! I just have a few stubborn areas left to get rid of it completely, then I'll be doing some sanding. Depending how it comes out I'll either get it cleared or painted black to match the car.

I started with around 80 grit I believe. It came out fine. I could see slightly different coloured shapes like I had cut through different layers but that didn't make any difference in the final finish.
