having trouble with my c5
I have 1999 Conver
my right door switch doesn't work while my left door switch is working. DIC says service tire monitor something like that, service car soon.... reduce engine power.... my Key Fob is still working before this trouble start but then it didnt work when it started. I tried retraining my TPMS. Switch (hoping that this is the solution) but then neither one of them is working (didnt hunk the horn). do you guys know how to fix this?
thank you!

With a C-5, always start by pulling the codes using the DIC to do so. Pay attention to the "H" and "C"'s with each code. Write them down and post them.

First thing I'd do is check the condition of the battery, and then possibly the output of the alternator. As MANY have said in the past, C-5s are notorious for strange behavior when the battery voltage is down, and all sorts of random codes get set, which makes any detective work difficult.
So, make sure the battery is at FULL voltage, pull the codes, write them down, the clear them, go for an extended ride, then check the codes again.

The reduced engine power issue and the fact that the right door doesn't work points toward a problem in the door wiring harness connectors.
Pop out the accordion tube between BOTH doors and carefully examine the connectors. Look for deformed female pins. If you find any, you can reshape the bent tong and that will allow it to make proper contact with the male pin/s
Your problem is in the right door but your best to inspect BOTH while you have time. Disconnect BOTH connectors and look for deformed female pins:
After the FIX,, reassemble and clear ALL the DTCs and see whats up.

Bill, I understand what you're saying, but how is it possible for the pins to get deformed when they plugged in, during normal operation?

Heating and cooling, vibration, who knows. My 02 ZO6 was purchased BRAND NEW. I'm the ONLY owner and the door connectors were NEVER touched. Mine failed just like yours and the connectors were virgin (never touched by anyone) So,,,,,,,,,,it happens.
Hell,, its a free fix and an easy fix if thats the issues. Ive seen SO MANY C5's with this very same issue so its NOT and isolated freak thing.
When the serial buss is compromised (and thats what happens when the DCM/s loose and regain power because of that poor connection in the connectors) you loose the functions on the modules that communicate with the BCM on the serial buss.
Until you fine the poor connections (Oh the Drivers Seat Control Module connector can also cause this) it hard to say what all will be effected.

It should come out. The factory hooked it up sooooooo,,,, its long enough. Maybe its hung up on something. You can see it in the kick panel area if you use a mirror.

C5 DR Door accordion wiring
I can say from experience on Corvette Forum I re glued the back window in my 02 vert.. A thread with KSPAZ and some others made the re gluing easy. Suction cups and Rhino Glue and the windows holding 2 1/2 goin on 3. years. Knocking on my head.
Reading about this and other problems like getting my gas gauge to work using TECHTRON and following the directions on the bottles, totaling 3, 12 ounce bottles in, 1000 mile intervals.
I will be trying this method to restore the L door functions. Functions just went out last night and came back with a swift twist at the door wiring.
