I am in the process of installing Magnaflow catback mufflers on a friend's 2004, along with heads, cam, Vararam, headers, etc. While I don't have the car running with the Magnaflows just yet, I will say they have the extremely nice fit and finish. If they sound as good as they look he will be a very happy customer. Give me a week or two to repair 2 cylinder head bolt threads in the block, and then I'll report on how they sound.

I had a Hooker catback which is basically the same thing and i would say save up a little more and get a stainless steel set. The baffles in my Hooker eventually rusted out and developed a rattling noise and caused vibrations while driving. In fact, the guy I had given my stock exhaust to had a Magnaflow that rusted and he dumped them in the trash.

My set up did sound great though

I have a Magnaflow 16732 catback and there are days that I would like it to be a little louder but most of the time I am quite happy. It is slightly louder than stock at idle with a deeper rumble.

But it really comes alive at WOT. It does sound really mean when you drive aggessively. The quality and wormanship of the system is excellent and the tips are probably the best looking out there.

All in all, it is an easy system to live with. No drone with my 6-speed.

I've the 15713s on my 01 6 speed and I hit some drone around 1500 rpm in 6th while cruising.

For the ultimate----No mufflers !! i run just the stock cats and a 3" magniflow X-Pipe and dual 3" str8 pipes----Not as loud as you might thnk----some resonance but i live with it--
sounds awesome when on it hard--try it without mufflers--u can always add them later !

Default Magnaflow catback 15763 on 2001

I just had these installed and they had a bear of a time getting them on. The brackets that came with them did not match up and had to make their own. Also, the driver side tip is not perpendicular to the passenger ever so slightly but not too noticeable. Besides the quality control and fitment issues they look and sound great. A deep tone with a growling rumble. As my wife says, "so manly (insert 'Tool Time' GRRRR GRRRRR)." However, between 1500 and 1800 RPM you get MAJOR drone that just resonates throughout cabin, your head and ears and if exposed for too long will transform you Quasimodo hunch and all. So to summarize, I like it but now swing from bell towers. My 2cents....

Magnaflow 15713 axle back. 6 speed, no mods. Slightly louder than stock at idle, but noticeable. I have a little rumble during light acceleration, but at cruise, I have no drone, and that is 1500 rmp @70. Now, if you're pulling up a steep hill in 6th, it will drone, but stock does that. But during heavy acceleration, it's sounds good. Very aggessive sound, that's enough for me. I would suggest them. But, I have to say, every car respondes different, one may drone, and the other want.

i have the exact same experience all they down to the driver side mis-alignment. i can just barely notice it and the drone is awful. too bad to because the i like everything else about the system.

Magnaflow 16732
They have a deeper and more aggressive tone than the stocks. Sound really good yet not to loud when you open the throttle. Quality fit and finish.
I agree with Cybernind, the tips are really nice.

To avoid drone go with Corsa. They have two levels of loudness and are stainless steel guaranteed for the life of your vehicle. You won't be sorry.

I agree. 01 M6 coupe. Some drone, but easily can live with it. Easy install and I think I paid under 600 shipped.
