How to get your stereo unlock code.
i wanted to share this information with everyone, i was given all of the following information from my chevy dealership. other dealerships wanted me to bring the car to them and wanted to charge me for this service. [note: admin's please add this information to the Tech Tips section, or email me on how I can]
first, do not randomly enter codes, after 3 codes your stereo will go into "deep lock mode" this means that you need to leave the car ON for atleast an hour before you can try to enter another code.
you need to get 2 3 digit numbers from the stereo. heres how
1) hold down 2 and 3 for 3 seconds, a 3 digit code will apear
2) second hold down the AM/FM button a 3 digit code will apear
now you need to call the GM 800 number, to get your unlock code.
the number is 800.537.5140
you will need to enter 1+Dealer Code* (i obtained a dealer code from my dealer, you can also find one by searching google)
after that, enter the 6 digit code you have and you will get your stereo unlock code.
