Default East Coast Supercharging

Here's a big to Chris and Doug at ECS. I recently had some serious issues with my car. The only piece that was common to all the problems I was having is the PCM, so in standard "throw parts at it" attitude I wanted to replace it, and figured I'd go with a mail-order tune from ECS as well.

ECS gave me the best price for a reman ECM + program that I could find, AND the best part - Doug looked through my troubleshooting thread on here and made me an offer I couldn't refuse - if the PCM didn't fix it, and he thought it wouldn't, I could send him my old one back for a partial refund.

Well, the PCM fixed the problems! After a bit of an issue with over-oiling my BBK filter, which gunked up the MAF and made the car run far too rich and fouled my front O2s, I am finally able to drive the car with the new tune.

Wow! There is a serious seat-of-the-pants difference. I can break the tires loose in 2nd gear all through the RPM range, which I don't remember being able to do before, and the car just seems to rev faster and feel stronger. Getting rid of CAGS is a great plus also.

If you're on the fence, talk to Chris and Doug - they know their stuff, and I am absolutely a satisfied customer!

Thanks again guys,

Will

I just finished a m12 swap on my car and I am bringing my car to them this Friday. I as well will be updating my pcm from a 97 and getting a new tune as well as having them wire the car for the clutch switches. I have an electrical gremlin that I need them to fix, and from the sounds of it i will be treated well.

I think I have a ground problem but I am sure they will be able to figure it all out.

Hey Will,
Sorry I missed your post earlier. Glad we could help!!

Your on a short list of failed PCM's! At least they are not that expensive, and glad it all worked out, thanks for the kind words.

Yeah, mine too.........after Chris got a call and ran out of the office. When he came back with Doug and not my car, I knew something wasn't good.

A new PCM later and everything was back in business.

This short list isn't as short as I thought it was...

Either that, or we're all represented now.

Haha, your literally almost completely represented now.

I have had several had to be replaced from being locked by other tuners (I hate that..) but only one or two others besides you guys from a straight up component failure.
