Default Disconnecting The Mirror Memory Feature?

I have had issues off and on with the outside mirrors not holding their settings off and on for years. The dealership replaced both mirror motors under warranty as well as the Door Control Modules, but still from time to time one or both will just lose its mind and I will manually have to reset it every time I get in the car - a real PITA.

After thinking about it, I am not sure why I even need mirror memory? If I am the ONLY driver for the past 12 years, I should never have to move the mirrors at all? So is there a way to just disconnect the Mirror Memory Feature ONLY and retain the other Memory settings (like the telescopic steering, etc.)

I paid extra to get the Memory Feature for the convenience, but it has proved to be anything but convenient - not even a valuable feature even if it is working if it is a one-driver car (which most Corvettes are) just something to go wrong

Before you disconnect anything, try setting all three memory settings the same. (button 1.2, and both buttons) Set everything the way you want it and then hold down each combination until it flashes. I bet the mirrors will stay the same after that.

Setting all the FOBs to the exact same memory settings is a good first start.

Something else that will change the memory is a weak or aged battery. If the battery voltage drops below the cut off (minimum module voltage) the memory module will loose it saved memory and revert back to a factory setting or sometimes a random setting.

Before you rule out the 12 VDC battery, check the Cold Cranking Voltage directly on the battery terminals during cranking. If your below 10 VDC at first crank,, your battery has issues.

Go into the SET UP FUNCTIONS and I think you can turn memory OFF! I know that you can turn the seat easy out function OFF.

I know as soon as I write this it will start acting up again, but I've gone at least 3 years now without it acting on it's own. Thing is, I have no idea what I did to correct it!! Best of luck with this oddball gremlin...

My memory settings get jacked up all the time.. I was thinking it was because of that wire loom that's in between the door though, I need to tape mine up in the spring.
